Kryton's Krystol concrete waterproofing products can be added directly to the concrete mix or applied to the concrete surface. Once added, Krystol reacts with water and unhydrated cement particles to form insoluble needle-like crystals. These crystals fill the pores and micro-cracks in the concrete, blocking the passage of water and waterborne contaminants.
Krystol will continue to provide the concrete structure with self-sealing capabilities. If water re-enters through hydrostatic pressure or micro-cracks, Krystol will initiate further crystallization to ensure permanent waterproofing. Krystol works throughout the entire lifespan of the concrete, achieving permanent waterproofing.

Kryton's innovative Krystol concrete waterproofing products will help you integrate quality, durability, and cost-effectiveness directly into your concrete.
Krystol waterproofing systems create completely watertight concrete structures that self-seal and can withstand hydrostatic pressure for the life of your structure.
Krystol technology has the potential to save you labor and maintenance costs, leaving you with a long-lasting and resilient structure.
When Krystol T1 is applied to the concrete surface, it reacts with the calcium in the concrete. When exposed to water, it generates needle-like crystals that fill the voids in the concrete, effectively blocking water from penetrating the concrete surface. This surface application method can replace traditional waterproofing systems and is suitable for both new and old concrete structures, and can be applied on the positive or negative side of the water pressure.
Completely replaces expensive and labor-intensive traditional membrane waterproofing systems.
Suitable for waterproofing underground structures, reservoirs, and pipelines, with the ability to withstand strong hydrostatic pressure.
Waterproofing effect is not affected by surface damage, no need for re-application.
Permanently self-heals micro-cracks, preventing water ingress.
Suitable for drinking water containers, certified non-toxic by NSF, and has passed NSF/ANSI Standard 61 for drinking water safety.
Prevents rebar corrosion.
Can be applied on the positive or negative side of the water pressure, solving waterproofing problems in difficult or even inaccessible locations.
Simple application, just mix Krystol T1 powder with water according to the specified ratio, then apply to the concrete surface, followed by at least three days of curing.
Krystol T1 Concrete Waterproofing Slurry is a crystalline slurry applied to the surface that transforms new or existing concrete into a permanent waterproof barrier.
Krystol T1 Concrete Waterproofing Slurry reduces concrete permeability, preventing the ingress of moisture and water-soluble chemicals. It can replace surface-applied waterproofing membranes and is often used to repair failed waterproofing membranes.
Krystol T1 contains Krystol technology. When applied to concrete, Krystol reacts with water and unhydrated cement particles to form insoluble needle-like crystals that fill the pores and micro-cracks in the concrete, blocking the passage of water and waterborne contaminants. Moisture entering the concrete during its service life will initiate crystallization, ensuring permanent waterproofing.

(Krystol)Penetration Depth | Concrete of grade 30/20 was plastered with 3 mm of mortar and then coated with Krystol T1. After curing, the Krystol T1 and mortar were scraped off, and the permeability of the samples was tested according to DIN 1048-5 test procedure (0.5 MPa, 72.5 psi, for 72 hours). Even after scraping off the coating, the coated samples showed 51% lower permeability than uncoated concrete, demonstrating that Krystol penetrated the mortar layer and entered the concrete itself. - MateriaLab, Hong Kong, 2010
“Crystallization growth was observed in the pores on the fractured surfaces of the concrete cylinders used in these tests, extending as deep as 4 inches (100 mm) from the coated surface. This substantiates the claim of deep penetration with ‘Krystol’.” - HBT Agra Ltd., 1976 |
Water Absorption (BS 1881: Part 2) | Concrete coated with Krystol T1 and uncoated control concrete were tested according to “BS 1881: Part 2018; Initial surface absorption of concrete”. The uncoated concrete had a surface absorption of 1.8 ml/m², while the Krystol T1 coated concrete cubes had zero surface absorption and were reported as “did not soak even after prolonged testing”. -Sirim QAS International, Malaysia, 2012. |
Chloride Ion Permeability (ASTM D1411) | After 90 days of immersion in a 10% calcium chloride solution, the acid-soluble chloride ion content was determined at various depths of Krystol T1 coated and uncoated control samples using the Mohr method. Krystol T1 coated concrete showed a reduction of 62.9% at 5 mm (0.2 inches), 83.8% at 10 mm (0.4 inches), and 94.6% at 15 mm (0.5 inches) compared to the control samples. - HBT Agra Ltd., 1993 |
Mix Krystol T1 material to a spreadable slurry consistency (approximately 3.5 parts powder to 1 part water by volume). Using a sprayer, brush, or broom, apply the mixture uniformly to properly prepared, saturated surface dry (SSD) concrete at a rate of 1.2 - 1.6 kg/m² (2.25 - 2.95 lbs/yd²), either as a single or double coat of waterproofing. If applying a double coat, apply the second coat when the Krystol T1 has hardened (ranging from 6 to 24 hours depending on conditions). The coating should be protected for at least 24 hours from frost, rain, traffic, and rapid drying. Wet cure for a minimum of 3 days.
