The TSURUMI HS3.75SL is a portable dewatering pump from Tsurumi's HS series (officially classed as Submersible Pumps > Portable Dewatering Pumps). It has an 80 mm (3-inch) discharge and a 0.75 kW single-phase capacitor-run motor. It is the high-volume, low-head model of the HS range, which Tsurumi Global introduced as a "powerful high volume type" for the series: up to 580 L/min and 10.8 m maximum head, at a dry weight of 19.6 kg excluding cable. It suits site and drainage work where large volumes of water must be moved quickly against a low head.

Selection note: the HS3.75SL and the HS3.75S share the same 80 mm bore and 0.75 kW motor but are tuned differently: the HS3.75SL gives more flow (580 L/min) at a lower head (10.8 m), while the HS3.75S reaches a higher head (18 m) with less flow (300 L/min). This is the standard (manual) model with no float switch. For automatic start and stop by water level, choose the HSZ3.75SL, which has identical performance. The HS3.75SL is a dewatering pump, not a slurry or sewage pump; for settled sand and silt, choose the HSD2.55S slurry pump.

Key features

High volume, low head: up to 580 L/min (about 34.8 m³/h), the highest flow in the HS range.
Side discharge with spiral casing: solids pass through smoothly, and the external side outlet helps draw them in. The semi-vortex urethane rubber impeller passes solids up to 7 mm.
Shaft-mounted agitator (sintered alloy): prevents the air lock that semi-vortex pumps are prone to.
Abrasion-resistant wear parts: Tsurumi rates their durability as equivalent to three-phase drainage pumps.
Double inside mechanical seals: silicon carbide (SiC) faces running in an oil chamber, with Tsurumi's Oil Lifter keeping the faces lubricated and cooled down to 1/3 of the normal oil level. An NBR V-ring adds dust protection.
Built-in circle thermal protector (CTP): cuts the motor circuit directly on overheating or overcurrent.
Anti-wicking cable entry: stops water creeping in by capillary action if the sheath is damaged or the cable end is submerged, and prevents condensation inside the motor housing. A cable clip protects against tugging.
Resin stand: prevents scratching the floor.

Performance

The 10.8 m maximum head is the head at near-zero flow, and the 580 L/min (0.58 m³/min, about 34.8 m³/h) maximum capacity is the end point of the performance curve. The two do not occur together: actual flow falls as total head (static head plus hose friction loss) rises. Select the pump from the 50 Hz performance curve using your site's total head. For higher heads, consider the HS3.75S (18 m) or HS2.75S (18 m).

Optional accessories

80 mm (3-inch) discharge hose: the standard outlet is a hose coupling, so match the hose to the bore.
Male threaded coupling for pipe connection: available from Tsurumi on special request.
Automatic operation: for level-controlled start and stop, we recommend the HSZ3.75SL, which comes with a factory-fitted float switch.

Safety and installation

Connect to an earthed single-phase supply of the matching voltage. 110V and 230V versions are not interchangeable. An outlet with earth-leakage (RCD) protection is recommended.
The built-in thermal protector (CTP) is a safeguard only; do not run the pump dry for long periods. Keep enough water for continuous running (Tsurumi Europe data: at least 120 mm).
Carry and lower the pump by its handle, never by the power cable. A damaged cable must be replaced or repaired.
Stand the pump on firm ground or a platform so it does not sink into silt.
Do not use in flammable or explosive atmospheres, or with flammable, corrosive or hot liquids. This model is not designed for seawater.
Always disconnect the power before inspection or servicing.

Wear parts and routine checks

Main wear parts: impeller, agitator, mechanical seals and V-ring. Long running in sandy water gradually wears the impeller and flow drops.
Check and replace the seal oil (turbine oil ISO VG32, 160 ml) periodically. The Oil Lifter only maintains lubrication down to about 1/3 of the oil level; if the oil is cloudy or contains water, have the shaft seals inspected promptly.
