The TSURUMI LSP1.4S-110V is the single-phase 110V version of Tsurumi's LSP portable self-priming residue drainage pump (classed by Tsurumi Hong Kong under non-submersible construction dewatering pumps). It has 25 mm suction and discharge ports and a 0.48 kW capacitor-run motor. The pump draws water through a suction hose and the standard suction attachment, picking up floor water almost down to the floor surface. Its motor is of submersible construction, so the pump keeps working even if it ends up fully under water.
Major components are aluminium alloy and synthetic rubber, giving a dry weight of just 16.5 kg for easy carrying. It suits construction sites, plant equipment areas and water tanks, where it removes the residual water that ordinary pumps leave behind.
Selection note: the LSP1.4S is a self-priming pump that lifts water through a suction hose and suction attachment, and it must be primed with about 1.8 L of water before every start. If you want a pump that sits directly in the water and drains down to about 1 mm, choose the submersible LSC1.4S residue drainage pump. This is a 110V unit and must not be connected directly to 220V mains; if you do not have a 110V supply, choose the standard LSP1.4S (voltage as per nameplate).
Key features
- Self-priming, with suction attachment as standard: the suction attachment lies flat on the floor and picks up water almost to floor level. Maximum vacuum is -73.3 kPa (-550 mmHg).
- Submersible motor: although it is a surface self-priming pump, the motor is of submersible construction, so the whole unit can run even when submerged.
- Siphon breaker and anti-backflow mechanism: prevents backflow and loss of priming water when the pump stops.
- Top-discharge design: water flows around the motor for better cooling and extended dry-running endurance. The pump must still not be run dry.
- Double inside mechanical seals: silicon carbide (SiC) faces housed in the oil chamber, with Tsurumi's original Oil Lifter, which keeps the seal faces lubricated and cooled even when the oil level falls to one third of normal. A V-ring provides dust sealing.
- Built-in miniature thermal protector (MTP): stops the motor automatically on overheating or overload.
- Anti-wicking cable entry: limits water creeping along the cable cores into the motor if the cable sheath is damaged.
- Urethane rubber impeller: a semi-vortex impeller with a synthetic rubber pump casing and rubber base keeps the pump light.

- Water tanks and cisterns: removing residual water from the bottom
For residual and standing water (clean-water type liquids) only, at 0–40 °C. Not suitable for slurry, sand-laden liquids or solids handling, and not for oil, brine, seawater or organic solvents.
Performance
The maximum head of 6.9 m (50 Hz) / 7.8 m (60 Hz) is the head at near-zero flow, and the maximum capacity of 50 L/min (50 Hz) / 55 L/min (60 Hz) is the end point of the performance curve. The two do not occur together: actual flow falls as total head (suction lift, discharge height and hose friction loss) rises. Select from the curve that matches the nameplate frequency, using your site's total head. For more head, consider the submersible LSC1.4S (11 m / 12 m).

Safety and installation
- This is a single-phase 110V unit. Connect it to a 110V supply (for example a 110V site supply or a suitable step-down transformer); never connect it directly to 220V mains. Keep the voltage within ±10% of the rating and make sure the frequency matches the nameplate. When running from a generator, do not connect other equipment at the same time.
- Remove the priming plug and fill with about 1.8 L of clean water before every start. Never run the pump dry or against a closed valve.
- Earth the pump properly and use an earth-leakage circuit breaker. Never connect the earth wire to a gas pipe, water pipe, lightning rod or telephone earth.
- Switch off and unplug the pump before inspection or servicing. Do not stand next to or touch the pump while it is running, to avoid electric shock from leakage.
- Carry the pump by its handle; never lift or pull it by the cable. Do not kink or sharply bend the cable, never submerge a damaged cable, and keep cable joints and the plug dry.
- The pump body is hot during and just after operation; avoid touching it, and beware of hot water spraying out when opening the priming plug.
- If the motor protector trips, find and remove the cause before restarting.
- Do not use near flammable or explosive materials. Maximum allowable water pressure is 0.2 MPa.
Routine checks and maintenance
- Measure insulation resistance and check running current and voltage every month.
- Check and change the lubricating oil regularly (turbine oil ISO VG32, 150 ml).
- Inspect the check valve (anti-backflow mechanism) regularly.
- Overhaul every 2–5 years. Mechanical seal replacement must be carried out by the agent.
