The TSURUMI HS2.75S 110V is the single-phase 110V 50 Hz version of Tsurumi's HS-series portable dewatering pump (officially classed under submersible pumps > portable dewatering pumps). It has a 50 mm discharge and a 0.75 kW 2-pole capacitor-run motor, delivering up to 230 L/min and a maximum head of 18 m, with solids passage up to 7 mm. Weighing 16.4 kg dry (excluding cable), it is compact and easy to handle and carry. Wear-prone parts are made of abrasion-resistant material, which Tsurumi says gives durability comparable to three-phase drainage pumps. It suits general dewatering on construction sites, in basements and during flooding.
This is the 110V version and needs a 110V 50 Hz single-phase supply, typically from a site isolating transformer. The official Tsurumi model is HS2.75S; "110V" denotes the supply version and is not part of the factory model code. For a 230V supply, choose the standard HS2.75S. The two versions are not interchangeable.
Selection note: the HS2.75S is a manually operated dewatering pump, not a sewage or slurry pump. It is not suitable for raw sewage, fibrous solids or settled sludge. For automatic start/stop by water level, choose the float-switch HSZ2.75S 110V automatic model (same performance). For settled sand and silt, choose the HSD2.55S slurry pump, which has a high-chrome impeller and agitator.
Key features
- Side discharge with spiral casing: the external side outlet and spiral casing let solids be drawn in and pass through more smoothly.
- Shaft-mounted agitator: a sintered-alloy agitator prevents the air lock that semi-vortex pumps are prone to.
- Wear-resistant semi-vortex impeller: urethane rubber impeller in a ductile cast-iron casing.
- Double inside mechanical seals: silicon carbide (SiC) faces running in an oil chamber, with Tsurumi's Oil Lifter keeping the faces lubricated and cooled even when the oil drops to about one third of the normal level.
- V-ring dust seal: a nitrile rubber (NBR) V-ring protects the shaft seal from grit.
- Built-in circle thermal protector (CTP): cuts the motor circuit directly on overheating or overcurrent.
- Anti-wicking cable entry: stops water creeping into the motor by capillary action if the sheath is damaged or the cable end is submerged, and prevents condensation inside the motor. A cable clip guards against tugging.
- Resin stand: prevents scratching of floors.

Performance
The 18 m maximum head is the head at near-zero flow, and the 230 L/min (about 13.8 m³/h) maximum capacity is the end point of the performance curve. The two do not occur together: actual flow falls as total head (static head plus hose friction loss) rises. Select the pump from the performance curve using your site's total head. Tsurumi UK lists the same performance for the 110V and 230V versions. For more flow at lower head, consider the 80 mm HS3.75S 110V or HS3.75SL.

Safety and installation
- Connect only to an earthed supply of the matching rating (110V 50 Hz single-phase); the 230V and 110V versions are not interchangeable. An earth-leakage (RCD) protected supply is recommended.
- Use the handle to lift or lower the pump. Never lift it by the cable. Protect the cable from damage, and repair or replace a damaged cable.
- Keep at least 90 mm of water for continuous running. The built-in thermal protector is a safeguard only; do not run the pump dry for long periods.
- Stand the pump on firm ground or a platform so it does not sink into silt.
- Do not use in flammable or explosive atmospheres, and do not pump flammable or corrosive liquids, seawater or hot liquids. Tsurumi Europe publishes operating limits of 0–40 °C liquid temperature, pH 5–9 and up to 10% dry matter.
- Always isolate the power before inspection or servicing.
Wear parts and routine checks
- Main wear parts: impeller, agitator, mechanical seals and V-ring. With long running in sandy water, the impeller gradually wears and flow drops.
- Check and replace the seal oil (turbine oil ISO VG32, 160 ml) periodically. If the oil is cloudy or contains water, have the shaft seals inspected promptly.
