The TSURUMI 100C411 is a submersible sewage pump with cutter impeller from Tsurumi's C series. It has a 100 mm discharge and an 11 kW 4-pole three-phase motor with star-delta starting. Brazed sintered tungsten carbide edges on the impeller vanes work against a serrated suction cover, shredding rags, wipes and other fibrous matter as it enters so that it passes through without clogging. It suits higher-flow drainage of sewage and wastewater that carries solids and fibres.

Selection note: the C series is a cutter pump, not a grinder pump or macerator, and not a slurry or sand pump. The 100C411 is a non-automatic model with no built-in float switch. Its 11 kW motor needs a star-delta starter panel that is also wired to the motor's miniature thermal protectors (MTP). If you need 11 kW with more head and high-chromium wear parts, compare the 80 mm 80C211-CR (47 m max head).

Key features

Non-clogging cutter design: semi-open single-channel cutter impeller in grey cast iron with a brazed sintered tungsten carbide edge, running against a serrated ductile-iron suction cover. Grooves on the front of the suction cover catch fibrous matter, which the carbide edge and saw teeth then cut, preventing clogs. In Tsurumi's own demonstrations the cutter shreds aluminium cans, plastic bottles, non-flushable wipes and nylon pantyhose.
Double inside mechanical seals: silicon carbide faces on both the upper and lower seals (SiC + SiC), running in an oil chamber. Tsurumi rates silicon carbide at about five times the corrosion, wear and heat resistance of tungsten carbide.
Oil Lifter (Tsurumi patent): keeps the seal faces lubricated and cooled even when the oil drops to about one third of the normal level.
Built-in miniature thermal protectors (MTP): embedded in each winding. On overheating, for example from dry running, the bimetal opens and the control panel cuts the power.
Anti-wicking cable entry: stops water creeping along the cable cores by capillary action if the sheath is damaged or the cable end is submerged, and keeps moist air and condensation out of the motor.
Continuous-duty dry-type motor: 4-pole induction motor, IP68, insulation class F, with permanently lubricated, double-shielded deep-groove C3 ball bearings.
82 × 75 mm solids passage (50 Hz): threaded JIS 10K flange discharge, and available for guide rail installation (model TOS100C411), so the pump can be serviced without entering the sump.

Performance

The 25.8 m maximum head is the head at near-zero flow, and the 2,750 L/min (about 165 m³/h) maximum capacity is the end point of the performance curve (50 Hz). The two do not occur together: actual flow falls as total head (static head plus pipe friction loss) rises. Select the pump from Tsurumi's performance curve using your site's total head. For lower flows, consider the 100 mm 100C47.5 (7.5 kW, 23 m max head).

Guide rail fitting TOS3-100-100: duckfoot bend, guide support (with bolts and nuts), guide hook, 5 m lifting chain (with shackles) and threaded JIS 10K flange. The guide pipe is not included.
Discharge bend BEND 100-100F and STAND SET: according to Tsurumi's product guide this model is supplied without the discharge bend and pump stand. Confirm the supply scope with the Hong Kong agent.
Float switches: MC-2 (heavy-duty, with shock absorber, NO or NC contact) or MT-1 (economy, SPDT), connected through a control panel.
Star-delta starter panel: must also take the MTP protector leads.

Factory options: seawater-resistant version (galvanic anode and special impeller), high-temperature version for liquids up to 80 °C, high-chromium cast iron impeller and suction cover, special materials such as stainless steel or bronze, and a dry pit (D) version.

Safety and installation

Three-phase connection and control panel wiring must be carried out by a registered electrical worker in line with local regulations. Earth the pump properly and provide overload and earth-leakage protection.
The MTP only opens a signal circuit, so the control panel must cut the power. If the MTP leads are left unconnected, the motor has no thermal protection.
The impeller has sintered tungsten carbide edges and the suction cover is serrated. Isolate and lock out the power and wear cut-resistant gloves before clearing debris.
The pump weighs 179 kg. Use suitable lifting gear and a lifting chain, and never lift or lower the pump by its cable.
Do not damage the cable sheath or let the cable end get wet during installation; the anti-wicking entry is a safeguard only.
The standard version handles liquids at 0–40 °C and pH 5–9. It is not seawater-resistant and not explosion-proof: do not pump flammable or explosive liquids, and avoid prolonged dry running.
Sewage sumps are confined spaces that may contain hydrogen sulphide or have low oxygen; follow Hong Kong confined-space regulations. A guide rail installation lets you service the pump without entering the sump.

Wear parts and routine checks

Main wear parts: cutter impeller, suction cover, mechanical seals and oil seal. As the cutting edge and serrations wear, cutting performance and flow drop.
Check the turbine oil in the oil chamber (ISO VG32, 6,500 ml) periodically as set out in the manual. If the oil is cloudy or contains water, have the shaft seals inspected promptly.
