The TSURUMI 100C43.7-E1 is a submersible sewage pump with cutter impeller from Tsurumi's C series. It has a 100 mm discharge and a 3.7 kW 4-pole three-phase motor. The impeller vanes carry brazed sintered tungsten carbide alloy edges that work against a serrated suction cover, shredding fibres and debris in the sewage before discharge so that they cannot wrap and clog the pump. It is designed for draining sewage and wastewater from buildings and kitchens, and for transferring sewage within the water treatment facilities of factories and commercial complexes, with a solids passage of 70 × 81 mm.
Selection note: the 100C43.7-E1 is a cutter pump, not a grinder pump or macerator, and it is not a slurry or sand pump. It has a grey cast-iron impeller and a ductile cast-iron suction cover, so it is not one of the "-CR" high-chromium cast-iron models. The pump has no float switch and does not start or stop automatically; for level control, add a float switch and a control panel. The "-E1" suffix does not appear in Tsurumi's official catalogues, so the specifications on this page are those of the base model 100C43.7.
Key features
- Cutter impeller: semi-open single-channel cutter impeller with brazed sintered tungsten carbide alloy edges. Grooves on the front of the suction cover catch fibrous matter, which the edges and saw teeth then cut. Tsurumi demonstrates it on aluminium cans, plastic bottles, non-flushable wipes and nylon pantyhose.
- Dual inside mechanical seals: running in an oil chamber, with ceramic + carbon upper faces and silicon carbide (SiC) + SiC lower faces. Tsurumi states SiC is about five times more resistant to corrosion, wear and heat than tungsten carbide.
- Tsurumi's original Oil Lifter: keeps the seal faces lubricated and cooled even when the oil level falls to one third of normal.
- Anti-wicking cable entry: stops water creeping along the cable cores by capillary action if the sheath is damaged or the cable end is submerged, and keeps moist air and condensation out of the motor.
- Built-in circle thermal protector (CTP): cuts the motor circuit directly on overheating or overcurrent.
- Continuous-duty motor: dry-type induction motor, IP68, class F insulation, with permanently lubricated double-shielded deep-groove C3 ball bearings.
- Guide rail ready: with a TOS guide rail fitting, the pump is lowered onto and lifted off the duckfoot bend, so it can be serviced without entering the sump.
Applications
- Buildings: sewage and wastewater drainage from commercial and residential building sumps
- Kitchens: wastewater drainage from restaurant and canteen kitchens
- Treatment facilities: sewage and wastewater transfer in the water treatment facilities of factories and commercial complexes
- Fibre-laden sewage: sumps prone to clogging from wipes, rags and other fibrous matter
Performance
The 17.1 m maximum head is the head at zero flow, and the 2,000 L/min (about 120 m³/h) maximum capacity is the end point of the performance curve. The two do not occur together: actual flow falls as total head (static head plus pipe and hose friction loss) rises. Select the pump from the performance curve using your installation's total head. For more flow or head, consider the 100C45.5 (18.1 m, 2,290 L/min) or 100C47.5 (23 m, 2,500 L/min).

Optional accessories
- Guide rail fitting TOS3-80-100: includes the duckfoot bend, guide support (with bolts and nuts), guide hook, 5 m lifting chain (with shackles) and a threaded JIS 10K flange. The guide pipe is not supplied and must be sourced separately.
- Discharge bend BEND 80-100F: for free-standing installation. Tsurumi's product guide states that 0.75–5.5 kW models are supplied without a discharge bend; please confirm the supply scope with us.
- Float switch: Tsurumi MC-2 (heavy-duty, with shock absorber, NO or NC contact) or MT-1 (economy teardrop type, SPDT, for filling or emptying). Three-phase pumps must be connected through a control panel.
- External leakage sensor (electrode type): optional; this model has no built-in leakage sensor.
- Factory options: high-chromium cast-iron impeller and suction cover, seawater-resistant version, high-temperature version for liquids up to 80 °C, and dry pit version (D prefix), all made to order. Please contact us.
Safety and installation
- Three-phase supply and control-panel wiring must be carried out by a registered electrical worker in line with local regulations. Earth the pump properly and provide overload and earth-leakage protection, with the overload relay set to the nameplate rated current.
- The built-in circle thermal protector resets automatically: once the motor cools after a trip, the pump restarts by itself. Isolate and lock out the power before touching the pump or its impeller.
- The impeller's sintered tungsten carbide edges and the serrated suction cover are very sharp. Wear cut-resistant gloves and isolate the power before clearing debris.
- Never lift or lower the pump by its power cable; use the lifting chain or handle. The pump weighs about 84 kg dry, so use suitable lifting gear.
- Do not damage the cable sheath or let the cable end become submerged during installation. The anti-wicking cable entry is a safeguard only.
- The standard version is for liquids at 0–40 °C and pH 5–9. It is not seawater-resistant and not explosion-proof: do not pump flammable or explosive liquids, and avoid prolonged dry running.
- Sewage sumps are confined spaces that may contain hydrogen sulphide or low oxygen. Follow Hong Kong confined-space regulations before entry. A guide rail fitting lets you lift the pump out for service from outside the sump.
Wear parts and routine checks
- Main wear parts: cutter impeller, suction cover, mechanical seals and oil seal. With long running on sewage containing sand or hard debris, the cutting edges and suction cover gradually wear, reducing cutting performance and flow.
- Check the oil in the oil chamber (turbine oil ISO VG32, 1,350 ml) periodically as set out in the operating manual. If the oil is cloudy or contains water, have the shaft seals inspected promptly.
- Regularly check the clearance between the impeller and the suction cover, and inspect the cable sheath for damage.
