The TSURUMI 150B47.5 is a submersible sewage pump from Tsurumi's B series of non-clog sewage pumps (channel impeller), with a 150 mm discharge and a 7.5 kW 4-pole three-phase motor. The B series is built for sewage and wastewater: its anti-clogging channel impeller is designed to minimise trouble from solids and fibrous matter, and dual inside silicon carbide mechanical seals, Tsurumi's Oil Lifter and a built-in circle thermal protector (CTP) suit it to long continuous runs in pumping stations and sumps.
Tsurumi's current catalogue splits the 150 mm, 7.5 kW pump into two sub-types: the high-head 150B47.5H and the low-head 150B47.5L. They differ in impeller design, performance and dimensions. Please confirm with JACO which sub-type is supplied under this listing before ordering. If you need the high-head unit, you can also order the 150B47.5H directly.
Selection note: this is the 7.5 kW 150B47.5 (note the decimal point). It is a completely different pump from Tsurumi's 150B475, a 75 kW unit weighing about 1,180 kg, so always quote "150B47.5" when enquiring or ordering. B-series pumps are non-clog sewage pumps, not slurry or sand pumps, and are not suited to dense sand slurry or settled sludge. The standard model is not seawater-resistant.
Key features
- Anti-clogging channel impeller: shrouded grey cast-iron channel impeller (single-channel on the H, two-channel on the L) that lets solids pass with the flow and reduces clogging by solids and fibrous matter.
- Dual inside mechanical seals: silicon carbide (SiC) faces running in an oil chamber, with Tsurumi's Oil Lifter keeping the seal faces lubricated even when the oil drops to about one-third of its normal level.
- Built-in circle thermal protector (CTP): cuts the motor circuit directly on overheating or overcurrent.
- Anti-wicking cable entry: stops water creeping along a damaged or submerged cable into the motor and prevents condensation inside the motor.
- Continuous-duty motor: dry-type induction motor, IP68, 4-pole, 1,500 min⁻¹ at 50 Hz.
- Threaded JIS 10K flange discharge: connects to JIS 10K flanged pipework and accepts the TOS guide rail fitting, so the pump can be lifted out for service without anyone entering the pit.

Performance
Maximum head is the head at near-zero flow, and maximum capacity is the end point of the performance curve. The two never occur together: actual flow falls as total head (static head plus pipe and fitting friction losses) rises. The 150B47.5L has a maximum head of 14 m and a maximum capacity of 5,000 L/min (300 m³/h). The 150B47.5H is the high-head sub-type: on Tsurumi's 50 Hz curve it delivers about 18 m at about 0.5 m³/min, falling to about 6.5 m at about 3.7 m³/min (curve readings, for reference only). Select from the 50 Hz curve of the chosen sub-type using your site's total head.

Optional accessories
- Guide rail fitting (TOS150B47.5H / TOS150B47.5L): choose to match the sub-type. Includes a duckfoot bend, guide support with bolts and nuts, guide hook, 5 m lifting chain with shackles and a JIS 10K flange. Guide pipes are not supplied and must be sourced to suit the site.
- Float switches: MC float switch (heavy duty, with shock absorber, NO or NC selectable, for liquid with suspended solids and scum) or MT teardrop float switch with integrated counterweight (economy type). Both control the pump through an external control panel.
- External control panel: required for three-phase pumps, providing overload, phase-loss and rotation protection. Star-delta panels are available on request.
- JIS 10K mating flange: for connecting to site pipework.
Safety and installation
- Installation and wiring must be carried out by a registered electrical worker. Earth the pump correctly and fit overload and earth-leakage protection in the control panel.
- Check the three-phase rotation direction before first use.
- After the built-in CTP trips, the motor may restart automatically once it cools. Always isolate the power before inspection or servicing.
- Keep the liquid at or above the minimum running level and avoid prolonged dry running.
- For sewage and wastewater at 0–40 °C and pH 5–9 only. Do not pump flammable, explosive or strongly corrosive liquids, or liquids above 40 °C.
- The pump weighs about 200 kg: use hoisting equipment and lift it by its lifting eye or chain, never by the power cable.
- Never let the cable end be submerged and never cut or damage the cable sheath. The anti-wicking cable entry is a safeguard, not a substitute for proper cable care.
- Do not touch the pump or put hands near the suction while it is energised. In sewage pits, follow confined-space and gas (H₂S) precautions; a guide rail fitting lets the pump be lifted out for service without entering the pit.
Wear parts and routine checks
- Main wear parts: mechanical seals, oil seal and impeller.
- Check and replace the turbine oil in the oil chamber regularly (ISO VG32; H: 4,200 ml, L: 4,800 ml) to protect the mechanical seals. If the oil is cloudy or contains water, have the shaft seals inspected promptly.
- Lift the pump out periodically and check the impeller and suction for fibres or debris.
