The TSURUMI 100BA42.2 belongs to Tsurumi's B series of non-clog sewage pumps (officially filed under Submersible Pumps > Sewage & Wastewater > Cast Iron Pumps). It has a 100 mm discharge and a 2.2 kW three-phase motor. B-series pumps use a channel impeller to move sewage and wastewater containing solids and fibrous matter, and are designed to minimize trouble caused by clogging.
Selection note: the model code "100BA42.2" does not appear in Tsurumi Hong Kong's listing, Tsurumi's global B-series catalogue (IA100) or Tsurumi Europe's model table. The equivalent official standard model is the 100B42.2 (100 mm, 2.2 kW, three-phase, non-automatic). In Tsurumi's Japanese domestic codes, an "A" after the "B" indicates an automatic unit with a built-in float, but whether this unit has automatic operation, its supply voltage and its performance data must be confirmed with us before ordering. This page lists verified information only.
Key features
The following is the standard design of Tsurumi B-series models rated 7.5 kW and below. The exact configuration of this unit is subject to supplier confirmation.
- Anti-clogging channel impeller: wide passages for sewage carrying solids and fibrous matter.
- Dual inside mechanical seals: silicon carbide (SiC) faces running in an oil chamber, with Tsurumi's original Oil Lifter, which keeps the seal faces lubricated even when the oil drops to about one third of the normal level.
- Anti-wicking cable entry: stops water creeping along a damaged or submerged cable into the motor, and prevents condensation inside the motor.
- Built-in circle thermal protector (CTP): cuts the motor circuit directly on overheating or overcurrent.
- Continuous-duty motor: dry-type induction motor, IP68.
- Cast-iron construction: grey cast-iron casing, impeller and motor frame, with a 420 stainless steel shaft.
Applications
- Building sewage and sump pits: sewage and general wastewater
- Sewage pumping stations and treatment facilities: sewage containing solids and fibrous matter
- Factory wastewater pits: general industrial wastewater discharge
Standard B-series units handle sewage and wastewater at 0–40 °C and pH 5–9. The standard unit is not seawater-resistant and is not intended for slurry, sand or other abrasive liquids.
Performance
Tsurumi has not published a performance curve under the code "100BA42.2", so this page does not list head or flow for it. For reference, the official standard 100B42.2 has a maximum head of 16 m at 50 Hz, which is the head at near-zero flow, and a maximum capacity of 1,500 L/min (90 m³/h), which is the end point of the performance curve. The two do not occur together: actual flow falls as total head (static head plus pipe friction loss) rises. Select the pump from the 50 Hz curve of the confirmed model, using your site's total head.

Optional accessories
- External control panel: three-phase pumps must be connected through a control panel with overload, phase-failure and rotation protection.
- Float switches: the MC-2 heavy-duty float switch (with shock absorber, NO or NC selectable, for liquids with suspended solids and scum) or the MT-1 float switch with integrated counterweight, used together with a control panel. Not needed if this unit is confirmed to have automatic operation.
- Guide rail fitting (TOS series): includes duckfoot bend, guide support with bolts, guide hook, 5 m lifting chain with shackles and a JIS 10K flange. Guide pipes are not supplied. Select it to suit the confirmed model.
- Discharge flange: official 100 mm B-series models use a threaded JIS 10K flange. Match the mating flange to the confirmed model.
Safety and installation
- Electrical connection must be made by a registered electrical worker in line with local regulations. Earth the pump correctly and fit overload and earth-leakage protection in the control panel.
- Check the rotation direction of three-phase pumps before putting them into service.
- After the built-in CTP trips, the motor may restart once it cools. Always isolate the power before inspection or servicing.
- Keep the liquid at or above the minimum running level and avoid prolonged dry running.
- Lift the pump by its lifting eye or chain, never by the power cable. 100 mm units are heavy and need hoisting equipment.
- Never let the cable end be submerged, and never cut or damage the cable sheath.
- Do not touch the pump or put your hands near the suction while it is energized. In sewage pits, follow confined-space and gas (H2S) precautions; a guide rail fitting lets you lift the pump for maintenance without entering the pit.
- Do not use the pump for flammable, explosive or strongly corrosive liquids, or for liquids above 40 °C.
Wear parts and routine checks
- Main wear parts: impeller, suction cover, mechanical seals and oil seal.
- Check the oil in the oil chamber (turbine oil ISO VG32) regularly and replace it as needed to protect the mechanical seals. If the oil is cloudy or contains water, have the shaft seals inspected promptly.
- If flow drops noticeably, check the impeller and suction cover for wear or entangled debris.
