The TSURUMI 100B42.2-E1 is a heavy-duty submersible sewage and wastewater pump from Tsurumi's B series of non-clog pumps with a channel impeller. It has a 100 mm discharge, a 2.2 kW 4-pole three-phase motor and a semi-open single-channel impeller. Because the impeller itself forms a channel, solids and fibrous matter are less likely to clog the pump, making it well suited to long continuous running in sewage pump stations, building sumps, factory wastewater systems and water treatment plants.
The "-E1" suffix does not appear in Tsurumi's official catalogues. The specifications below are those of the official base model 100B42.2; the voltage and rated current of the supplied unit are as per the nameplate.
Selection note: the B series is a sewage pump range, not a slurry or sand pump. It has no agitator and no abrasion-resistant high-chrome parts, so it is not suitable for dense slurry or sandy, abrasive duty. The official 100B42.2 is a standard (non-automatic) model; for automatic level-controlled operation, add a float switch and a control panel.
Key features
- Anti-clogging channel impeller: semi-open, single-channel design with axial gap, minimising trouble from clogged solids and fibrous matter.
- Dual inside mechanical seals: silicon carbide (SiC) faces running in an oil chamber, with Tsurumi's original Oil Lifter, which keeps the seal faces lubricated even when the oil level falls to about one third of normal.
- Built-in circle thermal protector (CTP): directly cuts the motor circuit on overheating or overcurrent.
- Anti-wicking cable entry: stops water creeping along a damaged or submerged cable into the motor and prevents condensation inside the motor.
- Continuous-duty dry motor: 4-pole induction motor, IP68, insulation class F, direct-on-line (D.O.L.) starting.
- Guide-rail installation option: with the TOS100B42.2 guide rail fitting system, the pump connects to and disconnects from the discharge pipe simply by lowering or hoisting it, so maintenance can be done without entering the sump.

Performance
The 16 m maximum head is the head at near-zero flow, and the 1,500 L/min (90 m³/h) maximum capacity is the end point of the 50 Hz performance curve. The two do not occur together: actual flow falls as total head (static head plus pipe friction loss) rises. Select the pump from the 50 Hz performance curve using your site's total head. For higher heads, consider the 100B43.7H (20 m) or 100B45.5 (26 m).

Optional accessories
- TOS100B42.2 guide rail fitting system: cast iron; includes duckfoot bend, guide support with bolts and nuts, guide hook, 5 m lifting chain with shackles and a JIS 10 kg/cm² flange. Guide pipes are not supplied.
- Float switches: MC heavy-duty float switch (with shock absorber, NO or NC selectable, for liquid with suspended solids and scum) or MT economy float switch with integrated counterweight (SPDT, for filling or emptying). Used with an external control panel.
- Control panel: three-phase pumps must be connected through a control panel providing overload, phase-loss and phase-sequence protection.
- JIS 10K mating flange: specify a JIS 10K flange when connecting to local discharge piping.
Safety and installation
- Electrical connection must be made by a registered electrical worker in line with local regulations. Earth the pump correctly and fit overload and earth-leakage protection in the control panel.
- Check the rotation of three-phase pumps before first use; if it is wrong, have an electrician swap two phases.
- After the built-in CTP trips, the motor may restart automatically once it cools. Always isolate the power before inspection or servicing.
- Keep the liquid above the lowest running water level (225 mm) and avoid prolonged dry running.
- For sewage and wastewater at 0–40 °C and pH 5–9 only. The standard model is not designed for seawater or high temperatures; do not pump flammable, explosive or strongly corrosive liquids.
- The pump weighs about 66 kg. Lift it by the handle or a chain with suitable hoisting equipment, never by the power cable.
- Never submerge the cable end or cut or damage the cable sheath; the anti-wicking cable entry is a safeguard only.
- Do not touch the pump or put hands near the suction while it is energised. In sewage sumps, follow confined-space and toxic gas (such as hydrogen sulphide) precautions; a guide-rail installation lets you hoist the pump out for service without entering the sump.
Wear parts and routine checks
- Main wear parts: impeller, suction cover, mechanical seals and oil seal.
- Check and replace the oil in the oil chamber regularly (turbine oil ISO VG32, 1,350 ml) to protect the mechanical seals. If the oil is cloudy or contains water, have the shaft seals inspected promptly.
- Regularly check the clearance between the impeller and the suction cover, and the condition of the cable sheath.
