The WORX WU809.2 is a 125mm (5") brushless variable-speed cordless angle grinder kit on the 20V lithium-ion platform. Its brushless motor offers three selectable no-load speeds — 3500, 6000 and 8500 rpm — so the tool can be matched to the material and the load when cutting steel pipe, rebar and copper tube or grinding wood, metal and stone. The M14 spindle takes standard 125mm cutting and grinding discs with a 22.2mm bore. The head is a metal gear case fitted with a metal guard; the body measures 348.5 × 115 × 118mm and weighs just 1.7kg bare, or roughly 2.4kg with a 5.0Ah pack fitted — practical for fit-out, M&E, fire-services pipework, fencing removal and equipment maintenance. Safety features include a two-stage safety switch to prevent accidental start-up and a spindle lock button for quick disc changes, while the auxiliary handle can be mounted on either side of the head. This WU809.2 kit ships with two 20V 5.0Ah battery packs and a 6A charger.

Features & Benefits

MSC cooling air duct

The MSC duct channels airflow across the motor and electronics for faster heat dissipation, keeping body and handle temperatures in check during continuous work. The manufacturer quotes a handle temperature of about 40°C after 10 minutes of continuous use — roughly 7°C below the comfortable limit for a hand grip.

Slim soft-grip handle

The slim-waist grip section measures 44.3mm wide by 53.6mm high and is finished in a soft rubber overmould, so it sits comfortably in the palm for one-handed use and long working sessions, and makes the cut easier to steer.

Brushless motor: stable output, better efficiency and no carbon brushes to replace.
3-speed control: 3500 / 6000 / 8500 rpm to suit different materials and tasks.
Two-stage safety switch reduces the risk of accidental start-up.
