The TSURUMI 50B2.75S is the single-phase model in Tsurumi's B-series of submersible non-clog sewage pumps (officially filed under Submersible Pumps > Sewage & Wastewater > Cast Iron Pumps). It has a 50 mm discharge and a 0.75 kW 2-pole single-phase motor with capacitor start. A channel-type non-clog impeller is designed to minimize trouble from solids and fibrous matter and passes solids up to 20 mm, making it a good fit for building sewage pits, sumps and general sewage and wastewater transfer where only single-phase power is available.

Selection note: the 50B2.75S, 50B2.75H and 50B2.75 are all 50 mm, 0.75 kW pumps, but they are not interchangeable. The 50B2.75S is single-phase and shares the same 50 Hz performance curve as the three-phase high-head 50B2.75H. The 50B2.75 is the three-phase standard model, with a lower head (12 m) but a higher flow (435 L/min). If three-phase power is available on site, consider a three-phase model. The B-series are sewage pumps, not slurry pumps, and are not suitable for dense sand slurry or settled sludge.

Performance

Tsurumi's B-series catalogue shows the 50B2.75S and 50B2.75H on the same 50 Hz performance curve. Based on the 50B2.75H 50 Hz data, the maximum head of about 15.2 m is the head at near-zero flow, and the maximum capacity of about 360 L/min (about 21.6 m³/h) is the end point of the curve. The two do not occur together: actual flow falls as total head (static head plus pipe and hose friction loss) rises. Select the pump from the performance curve using your site's total head. If you need more flow at a lower head, consider the three-phase 50B2.75 (12 m / 435 L/min).

TOS50B2.75S guide rail fitting: includes the duckfoot bend, guide support with bolts and nuts, guide hook, 5 m lifting chain with shackles, and a JIS 10K flange. Guide pipes are not supplied.
Float switches: Tsurumi MC heavy-duty float switch (with shock absorber, NO or NC selectable, for liquids with suspended solids and scum) or MT teardrop float switch with integrated counterweight, used with an external control panel for level control.
Control panel: with overload and earth-leakage protection, set to the nameplate rated current.
Discharge fittings: the standard discharge is a threaded oval flange; for guide-rail installation, use a JIS 10K mating flange.

Safety and installation

Electrical connection must be made by a registered electrical worker in line with local regulations. The pump must be properly earthed and protected by an earth-leakage breaker and overload protection.
Make sure the supply voltage matches the nameplate. North American 110 V single-phase units are not suitable for Hong Kong.
After the built-in CTP trips, the motor may restart automatically once it cools. Always isolate the power before inspection or servicing.
Lift the pump by its handle with a chain or shackle. Never lift it by the power cable (dry weight 32 kg).
Never let the cable end be submerged and never cut or damage the cable sheath. The anti-wicking cable entry is a safeguard only.
Keep the liquid above the minimum running level and avoid prolonged dry running.
The standard model is for sewage and wastewater at 0–40 °C (Tsurumi Europe lists pH 5–9 for the B-series). Do not pump flammable, explosive or strongly corrosive liquids. The standard model is not seawater-resistant; seawater-resistant and high-temperature versions are special-order options.
Do not touch the pump or put your hands near the suction while it is energised. In sewage pits, follow confined-space and gas (H₂S) precautions; a guide rail installation avoids the need to enter the pit.

Wear parts and routine checks

Main wear parts: impeller, suction cover, mechanical seals and oil seal.
Check and change the oil in the oil chamber regularly (turbine oil ISO VG32, 440 ml) to protect the mechanical seals. If the oil is cloudy or contains water, have the shaft seals inspected promptly.
Regularly check the impeller and suction for wrapped debris, and the cable sheath for damage.
