The Makita UR017GZ is a 40Vmax XGT cordless grass trimmer with a loop handle and a rear-mounted BL brushless motor rated at 530 W max output. It cuts up to 330 mm wide with the nylon cutting head, and also accepts a metal blade (230 mm) or a plastic blade (255 mm). ADT automatic torque drive, AFT kickback brake, electronic 3-speed control and XPT dust and drip resistance make it suited to ridge, garden and slope weeding. This is a body-only model: battery and charger are not included.

Shorter trigger travel and lower trigger pull resistance reduce finger fatigue on long jobs; the adjusting lever handles speed control while the trigger is dedicated to on/off in single-speed mode.
Main power switch button and electric brake.
ADT (Automatic Torque Drive Technology) adjusts speed automatically according to load.
AFT (Active Feedback sensing Technology) kickback brake stops the tool when abnormal load is sensed.
Constant speed control maintains speed under varying load.
Grass tangle removal function using reverse rotation.
Soft start reduces start-up reaction.
Battery guard.
