The Makita LS009GZ is a 40Vmax XGT cordless 165 mm slide compound saw (aluminium / mitre cutting saw) driven by a high-power brushless motor with a no-load speed of 4,000 rpm. With the turn base at 0° it cuts up to 312 mm wide by 51 mm high in a single pass, and the blade bevels 45° to both left and right with an additional 1° of travel. A rail-forward sliding mechanism, front-mounted locking grips and a stowable sub-table make it suited to accurate cutting of timber, aluminium profiles and interior trim. This is the body-only version: battery and charger are not included.

Features and Benefits

165 mm blade with a sliding mechanism cuts up to 312 mm wide x 51 mm high in one pass at 0° turn base; the right-hand slide pole keeps the cutting line clearly visible.
High-power brushless motor delivers roughly twice the cutting speed of the equivalent Makita AC model in factory testing (based on 240 mm wide x 40 mm high timber).
Constant speed control maintains stable blade speed under heavy load for a cleaner cut face.
Rigid construction: upper and lower linear ball bearings, 25 mm diameter slide poles and a ribbed high-rigidity arm improve cutting accuracy.
Rail-forward sliding design keeps the depth unchanged during operation, with a stored depth of just 639 mm so it can sit close to a wall.
Dual bevel 45° left and right, plus an extra 1° for butting skirting and other interior trim.
Front-side operation: bevel locking grip and turn base release lever are grouped at the front for quick adjustment, plus a stowable sub-table to support wide workpieces.
Supplied with a Samehada premium TCT blade (165 mm / 60T) that reduces friction resistance by about a quarter and increases work per charge by about 50% versus the previous Makita blade.
AWS auto-start wireless system for dust collection: switching the tool on starts the dust extractor (wireless unit sold separately); a dedicated dust button also runs extraction without spinning the blade.
Built-in laser guide and bright LED work light, plus a mini sub fence.
11.9 kg with a BL4025 battery fitted for easy transport around site.
Runs on the 40Vmax XGT battery platform, shared with XGT impact drivers, rotary hammers, circular saws, vacuums and more.
