The Makita HP003GZ is a cordless hammer driver drill on the 40Vmax XGT platform, built around a BL brushless motor and a mechanical 3-speed transmission with up to 180 N·m (1,590 in.lbs) of max torque. Drilling capacity covers steel 20 mm, wood (drill bit) 20 mm, flat bit 40 mm and masonry 20 mm, with Active Feedback sensing Technology (AFT) and XPT dust- and drip-resistant construction. This is the body-only version: battery and charger are not included.

Mechanical 3-speed transmission with a newly added medium-speed mode combining torque and speed for demanding tasks such as driving long screws.

Jog dial for easy fastening-torque adjustment, with digital display for visual confirmation of the selected torque.
Electric brake for maximum productivity and increased operator safety.
Soft start in low-speed mode reduces kickback when starting with high-inertia bits such as a ø220 mm multi siding core bit.
LED job light relocated from the switch to the bottom of the grip for higher brightness and wider coverage; extended illumination time in Light mode for use as a jobsite light.
All-metal 13 mm self-ratcheting keyless chuck for improved bit gripping strength and durability.
BL brushless motor; XPT dust- and drip-resistant technology.
Reversing switch, variable speed and built-in job light.
