The Makita DPO500Z is an 18V LXT cordless random orbit polisher fitted with a 125 mm (5") hook-and-loop backing pad. Its BL brushless motor delivers 0-6,800 OPM, 0-13,600 SPM and 0-780 RPM, with a selectable normal mode for rough polishing and finishing mode for fine polishing. Constant speed control, soft start and an anti-restart function are built in, along with XPT dust- and water-resistant protection. This is a body-only model: battery and charger are not included.

125 mm (5") cordless random orbit polisher on the 18V LXT platform with a BL brushless motor.
BL motor delivers 0-6,800 OPM, 0-13,600 SPM and 0-780 RPM for faster polishing.
Electronically controlled BL motor optimises battery energy use for longer run time; brushless design runs cooler and lasts longer.
Two selectable rotation modes: normal mode uses orbital action with forced rotation for rough polishing and surface treatment; finishing mode uses orbital action with free rotation for fine polishing.
Finishing mode allows about 30 minutes of operation with an 18V 6.0Ah Li-ion battery.
Variable speed dial presets the maximum RPM; the trigger gives variable speed adjustment during operation.
Constant speed control holds speed under load; soft start reduces fling-off of polish, wax or paste.
Anti-restart function prevents accidental motor start when a battery is inserted.
Two-hand design and easy-to-grip head suit bonnet and sideway work; high-positioned flat main handle improves control.
Damage guards for car body, bumpers covering metallic parts, and a soft rubber tool rest for upside-down placement.
Detachable rubber vent dust covers minimise wool fibre entry into the motor.
Large two-finger trigger with lock-on button for continuous use.
XPT dust- and water-resistant technology; battery protection circuit guards against overloading, over-discharging and overheating.
Hook-and-loop pad accepts a wide range of optional accessories (pad, sponge pad, felt pad, wool pad).
