The Makita DF003GZ is a cordless driver drill on the 40Vmax XGT platform, powered by a BL brushless motor with 180 N·m of maximum torque and a 13 mm chuck. Its mechanical 3-speed transmission adds a medium-speed mode that balances torque and speed for demanding work such as driving long screws. It features Active Feedback sensing Technology (AFT), an electronic clutch, an electric brake and XPT dust- and drip-resistant construction. This is the body-only version; battery and charger are not included.

Mechanical 3-speed transmission with a newly added medium-speed mode for high, medium or low speed to suit the job.
The medium-speed mode delivers a combination of torque and speed ideal for demanding tasks such as driving long screws that need both high torque and speed.
Operating speed in medium mode is approximately twice that of low-speed mode when tightening long screws, improving efficiency in heavy-duty applications.
Active Feedback sensing Technology (AFT) turns the motor off if bit rotation is suddenly forced to stop.
Electronic clutch with enhanced torque and clutch stages in clutch mode; jog dial with digital display for easy adjustment and confirmation of fastening torque.
BL brushless motor running on the 40Vmax XGT battery platform.
Electric brake for maximum productivity and increased operator safety.
Soft start in low-speed mode reduces kickback when starting with high-inertia bits.
LED job light with higher brightness and a wider illumination area, relocated from the switch to the bottom of the grip; extended light mode lets it serve as a jobsite light in dark environments.
All-metal 13 mm self-ratcheting keyless chuck for improved bit gripping strength and durability, plus quick and easy bit changes.
XPT dust- and drip-resistant technology for high water resistance.
Conveniently located reversing switch and a durable, reversible belt clip for temporary tool hanging.
