The KNIPEX StepCut® XL Dual-blade Cable Shears (model 95 18 225) are designed for cutting multi-stranded cables in industrial plants and residential building connections. Featuring a high-leverage joint and optimised cutting edges, they cut noticeably easier than compact cable shears. Cutting capacity: solid copper/aluminium cables up to 35 mm², stranded cables up to 70 mm², and fine-stranded cables up to 120 mm². Dual cutting areas: a stepped cutting edge holds small and large cables close to the joint, while the front cutting edge progressively cuts very large cables. Cutting edges are additionally laser-hardened to approx. 56 HRC. The insulated multi-component handles include a pinch guard for safe one- or two-handed operation. Not suitable for steel-reinforced cables such as ACSR.
